Hi It's July 3rd today. My day was spent in gruh pravesh (housewarming) ceremony conducted at a friend's place. I came home in the evening and went for a nap. I couldn't sleep though. Why? I don't really know!!! But I made good of that time and I saw a movie - King's Speech. It's a hollywood classic of current decade starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Geoffrey Rush is a veteran Australian actor although not so famous in Indian subcontinent, I believe. His best and most famous portrayal is of Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The funny, psychic semi-villian on the PoC series plays a very witty and unique character in this film. Colin Firth, to me, is best recognized as Darcy from Bridget Jone's Diary. I don't remember seeing any other movie of this guy. And if I remember correct then Hugh Grant took the limelight away from him in that one too!!! Anyways, coming back to the King's Speech. In 1998, I started reading poetry. Subsequently, I started to write poems & plays. The notebook I used then had become my constant companion and a personal talisman. Every time I open that notebook, I get to relive the memory of the day I wrote each page. Finally, the notebook exhausted its pages and Google came to my rescue. Yes, this public blog is to connect and share my thoughts with whoever happens to read but mainly it is for me, as a personal talisman.
